Samantha Roshard has been practicing art for over 20years. Her her first solo show was at Art Creators in St. Anns, Trinidad, in 2004. This artist paints because she feels a connection to something greater when she does. She describes it as "stirring a pot of something awesome" as she pulls together an image. Her life goal is to seek simplicity and peace which she finds in nature. This is why she predominantly paints landscapes in Trinidad and Tobago. She describes them as bringing her peace.
Her work is predominantly in acrylics, mainly because of its versatility, with themes such as abstract concepts, motifs, women, and landscapes. She notes that her paintings must not sit quietly on a wall but must scream its idea across the room. She has done paintings of popular beaches in Trinidad such as Mayaro, Maracas and Manzanilla. She is currently working on a series on women who she describes as reflections of herself and female personalities around her which she finds intriguing.
