As a young creative with the inclination for Art and Design, Reuben Gonzales is always willing to explore with the hope to attain superiority in all of his contributions. Even though I’m not a born native of the soil his parents Gonzales felt it necessary for him to experience his West Indian culture, to which he feel very privileged.
All Gonzales’ life 'visual stimulus' was integral and everywhere, so naturally it seems almost instinctive that he developed an attraction for visual arts, with specific referencing to Fine art, Costuming and Fashion. Currently pursuing a Bachelors in Fine Art & Design, with specific referencing to fashion at the Caribbean Academy of Fashion & Design (CAFD), the University of Trinidad & Tobago, which he hopes to complete in the year 2017.
His design asethic is free-spirited and fancy with a touch of the whimsical and always solid with content in the narrative! His designs are un-conventional in structure, therefore lending to the exclusive but still maintaining contemporary mass appeal.
Trinidad & Tobago boasts a rich vibrant pallet of cultural masquerades, as our Carnival is ranked one of the greatest spectacles on earth and thus a sense of 'costume' is also hinted in his design philosophy.
Traveling is one of his passions as the world is a mass of endless hidden treasures. To experience new elements stimulates him to experiment new ideas and techniques, thus allowing him to challenge himself to continuously forge ahead in this ever evolving world.
