Osay Williams, also known as Mr. Illustrative, is a graphic artist and illustrator born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. His style of art and design takes a highly rendered yet simplistic approach where he uses black, white and grey pixels, pencils and inks to create, as realistic as possible, portraitures and compositions of a range of subject matters. He usually veers toward the darker side of illustrative expression for personal work. He is also able to implement a range of color and rendering techniques within his illustrations.
For Osay, art and design is a tool of expression and communication; an opportunity for one to share their ideas, outlook and perception of everything around them. He explains that this power gives one the tools and means of becoming something much more, to transcend the plateau of just being; a divine gift which everyone shares alike. These ideas lend themselves to his outlook and practice within the artistic sense, and focuses his style of artistic expression.
