About this painting
Reality is her prison! Here the girl seems bombarded by bitterness and pain. She feels as if there is no air. The asymmetrical composition is emblematic of the imbalance and chaos in her reality. The artist’s use of purple on the figure is representative of the girl`s sub-conscious thoughts of royalty and spirituality for which she cries.
About Integration Through Art (ITA)
This was a seven day art exhibition which was geared towards providing a platform for both emerging and established male artists in the Caribbean region to showcase their works to stakeholders in the art world and the general public, providing all visitors with the opportunity to become better acquainted with the art community and to purchase works of art.
A seminar to coach aspiring and seasoned artists on how to survive in the current socio-economic and cultural climate took place during the exhibition period.
