Alexander Phoenyx is a pseudonym for the dynamic artist Stefan Rampersad. With nature and society as his muse, Alexander took to painting, taking the advice of community icons and forming his own vision and technique. As a contemporary abstract artist he uses references and colour to produce pieces to engage the psyche of his audience. Structural detail realism, he believes, limits his expression and is intrigued by the varied perspective of the audience to his work.
Most of his recent work in 2014 - 2015 focused thematically on self, drawing from his own journey and expression of emotion or from the stories of others. This ultimately lead to the sale of his collection "The Creation Series". His photography and art has been exhibited locally at The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and Café Moka among others. His photo series "Y: The Male Form" is an archive on sale and continues to grow, discussing masculinity in society.
